Lone Eagle Program

Recently the MetroSquared Foundation was a proud sponsor of the Lone Eagle Honor Flight event.

The Lone Eagle program brings in veterans from around the country who do not live within the service area of one of the Honor Flight hubs. This program also serves the terminally ill veterans with a medical prognosis that gives them one year to live. Rather than flying with a large group of veterans, they are individually flown into the Baltimore/D.C. area via commercial airlines, most times with their guardian, from an airport near their home. Hence the name “Lone Eagle”.

Members of the MetroSquared Foundation volunteered in assembly of the Swag Bags, registration of veterans and guardians and narrating the DC memorials during the bus rides. Below are some pictures of the weekend with the veterans.
